I find great pleasure when I can provide others with just the right word or phrase to convey the essential essence of a project. I suppose I learned the value of words when I was recruited into development. While working in the fundraising arena for more than 15 years, I found how the right words can motivate people to action. Working with boards, writing fundraising letters, and creating web and magazine content, it didn't take long to understand that words matter--how putting them together makes a significant difference, whether inspiring a donation or encouraging volunteer time toward a common cause.
Coupling this love for language with a lifelong interest in art, I have uncovered a unique pairing of creative interests. Throughout my work in development, I continually returned to the watercolor medium as a hobby. Today, I seek to create meaningful images for friends and clients, especially landscapes from a special place or experience. The reward is great when clients become friends as we capture their memories through the creative process.
These passions play out well at home also as my wife and I homeschool our children. All of us have unique gifts, and we love encouraging one another and celebrating our similarities and differences.
